Torri del Benaco
The ancient “Castrum Turrium” of the Romans was important in the Middle Age as
chief-town of the eastern Gardesana and as administration seat of the coast villages
united in a federation. The wonderful position of Torri, which lies between the
Lake and the declivities of the Mount Baldo, offers numerous opportunities of
walks among the olive groves and woods, with sights of remarkable beauty. Torri
is connected with Maderno, on the western coast of the Lake, with a ferry-boat
service for passengers and cars.
